YAY! I just received my contributor copy of The Toy Press, a new magazine from the UK which includes tons of great stories and poetry for kids! It’s always fun to see my poems traveling the globe!

A Great Time at Authors Day!

On November 5th, I had the pleasure of joining with 27 other authors from around NJ for the first annual “Author’s Day” at the Chester Library! There were tons of story times as well as writing games and activities for aspiring writers of all ages. It was wonderful sharing Brainstorm! with kids and meeting so many other amazing authors!

My Poem “Sir Sunny” published in Touchdown Magazine!

It’s always so fun to see my poetry in print! This month, my poem “Sir Sunny” graces the pages of the October 2022 issue of Touchdown, a magazine  for kids 11+ in Australia (part of The School Magazine family of publications).

One fun fact about this is that the poem was created from a writing challenge I participated in during May 2020. I was given the words “knight” and “beach” and this is the result!  You just never know where your work will end up! (Sometimes in a magazine on the other side of the globe!)

BRAINSTORM! visits the West Jersey Reading Council Fall Conference!

Had a great time introducing BRAINSTORM! to teachers, librarians, and literacy experts at the West Jersey Reading Council fall conference on Oct. 20, 2022! So wonderful to chat with educators who share my goal of getting kids excited about their ideas and about writing! 🙂

5 Stars for BRAINSTORM! from the Portland Book Review!

Exciting news! The Portland Book Review gave BRAINSTORM! a 5-star review!

This sweet book will help open up creative young minds…Rebecca Gardyn Levington has written a story that is sure to show kids ways to not let intimidation rule their writing lives. She does it with clever rhyming and wordplay….This is a winner. 5 stars!”

My Poem “HERE” is Featured in the New Children’s Poetry Anthology: WHAT IS A FRIEND?

I’m thrilled to share that my poem, “Here,” is featured in the latest children’s poetry anthology from Pomelo Books, entitled WHAT IS A FRIEND? Each poem was specifically written using a photo prompt. The book has already been chosen as a Children’s Book Council “Hot Off The Press” selection for October! 100% of the profits for this book are being donated to the IBBY Children in Crisis Fund which brings books and support to children whose lives have been disrupted through war, civil disorder or natural disaster. If you’re interested in purchasing a copy, you can do so HERE (or anywhere books are sold!). I’m so proud to be a part of this project!
