It’s World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) 2024!

It’s World Read Aloud Day! I had so much fun sharing my books (via Zoom!) with so many kids across the country today! (Any opportunity to wear my BRAINSTORM! hat, amiright?!)

A Wonderful Time at the Kindling Words East Conference!

I absolutely loved my first time attending the Kindling Words East writing conference in Providence, RI this weekend. So many breakthroughs, so many creative minds, so many desserts! I met some truly incredible, kind-hearted, and brilliant people, whom I’m so honored to now call my friends. One of the rules is that what happens at Kindling stays at Kindling, so I don’t have many shots of the conference itself, but here are some pics that had me thinking and dreaming as I walked around the beautiful city of Providence.

I Got To Interview… MYSELF!

So here’s something different… I got to interview MYSELF on the Picture Book Builders blog! 😂(yes, I do like to talk THAT much!) It was fun wearing hats as both blogger and interviewee, sharing my upcoming Passover book, AFIKOMAN, WHERE’D YOU GO? (Psst, I’m also doing a GIVEAWAY of a signed/personalized copy of the book or a 30 min Zoom call! To enter, you just need to post a comment!) Here’s the link: http://tinyurl.com/3vvwkypz

NEW BOOK ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

I have been keeping this news a secret for SO LONG!

WRITE HERE, WRITE NOW! will be my 5th published picture book! It inspires all kids to find joy in writing, no matter what, where, why, when, or how they write. With rhyming text (naturally!), this book presents a plethora of ways for kids to play with words while discovering the type of writing that feels “right” to them. It encourages reluctant writers to tap into their interests while motivating more prolific students to keep doing what they love.

It will be illustrated by the fantastic Andreana Boatta and will be published by Capstone on Jan. 1, 2025! Whoohoo!!!
