My Poem, “Spring Training,” Published in Blast Off Magazine!

One of the ways I get through the LONG wait between books coming out, is to send off my poems to various children’s magazines. Yesterday I was delighted to receive my contributor copies of the November 2022 issue of Blast Off magazine (one of The School Magazine publications, a magazine for 9-10 year old kids in Australia!)

This poem was originally created as part of a Poem-A-Day Challenge I participated in April 2020. The word prompt was “Mosquito.” 🙂

Cover credit: illustrator Mariona Cabassa and designer Sarah Soldano

I mean, doesn’t that cover just say it all?! Isn’t it GORGEOUS!!! And if you think that’s stunning, wait until you see the rest of it! I am so grateful that Mariona Cabassa agreed to illustrate this project. It is truly magical.

To learn a little more about the book and its creation, head over to author Vivian Kirkfield’s blog, where she so generously hosted the cover reveal. AND check out this BEAUTIFUL trailer that Barefoot Books created…

I can’t wait to share the book with you all on MARCH 7, 2023! For more info about the book and to see some interior spreads, visit the Whatever Comes Tomorrow book page.

New Poem in The Toy Press!

YAY! I just received my contributor copy of The Toy Press, a new magazine from the UK which includes tons of great stories and poetry for kids! It’s always fun to see my poems traveling the globe!

A Great Time at Authors Day!

On November 5th, I had the pleasure of joining with 27 other authors from around NJ for the first annual “Author’s Day” at the Chester Library! There were tons of story times as well as writing games and activities for aspiring writers of all ages. It was wonderful sharing Brainstorm! with kids and meeting so many other amazing authors!

My Poem “Sir Sunny” published in Touchdown Magazine!

It’s always so fun to see my poetry in print! This month, my poem “Sir Sunny” graces the pages of the October 2022 issue of Touchdown, a magazine  for kids 11+ in Australia (part of The School Magazine family of publications).

One fun fact about this is that the poem was created from a writing challenge I participated in during May 2020. I was given the words “knight” and “beach” and this is the result!  You just never know where your work will end up! (Sometimes in a magazine on the other side of the globe!)
